My story begins………I am a project kind of guy. Besides my normal family, work, golf, watch sports routines, I usually have a project I am working on.  My current project, the one I have named “Project Reset”, began in early July, 2017. I decided, for about the 4th time in my life, that I needed to join a gym and lose weight.  So, I joined the gym close to my house. That signing up process introduced me to the opportunity to have my fitness evaluated by a 3Click personal trainer. I have to admit that I thought the evaluation would likely be a “I came, I saw, move along” kind of event for me. I went into the evaluation really not expecting to sign up to use a personal trainer but after meeting with Cheyenne, I was convinced that I needed help and sensed that she could provide it.

Why was I convinced? During the evaluation process, Chey genuinely presented herself as a bright, energetic, knowledgeable personal trainer (not to mention just owning a flat out FUN personality!!) who was totally engaged in learning about where I have been, where I wanted to go and what I was willing to do to get there. One of the things we talked about was the fact that I have accumulated various weak points in my body over the years. A couple of those weak points originated from prior sports stress or injuries. She made sure she understood the history of those and, as I would find out during our conversation and later in our workout sessions,  she would have a plan to strengthen and improve them.

I have never worked with a personal trainer before but I honestly can’t imagine a more enjoyable and successful experience then what I have had with Chey. Since early July 2017 I have essentially met  with Chey on a schedule of twice a week for an hour each held at my Snap Fitness gym in Inver Grove Heights, MN. I supplement those 2 sessions/week with additional “homework” sessions and/or activities. With this schedule of training, stretching and change in diet, we have met or exceeded all my goals in the six month period ending in early January 2018. Those goals included losing 35 pounds, increase my core strength (best level in past 30 years) and improve the strength and flexibility in my arms, legs, back and shoulders which will definitely assist me in reaching my golf goals this coming Summer!!!!!  As further confirmation of the progress we have been making, I recently had lab work done that showed great improvement in my AIC and glucose levels, sensational cholesterol improvement and all other key values were at their best range in the past 2 years!!!

Take it from a guy who has lost weight in the past but has never “Reset” his nutrition, exercise and activity habits so that they were sustainable, working with Chey has been essential for me in regards to resetting those old habits.

The journey I am on will continue and transition from Project Reset to what I will call,  “Project 40”.  My 40 year High School reunion is this Summer.  I have intentions of getting back to my lowest weight in 40 years and a sub 40” waist before July 1, 2018 . We can do this!!!!!

I have done Crossfit for a few years, but really found that Powerlifting was something I was really good at. I started competing, but started developing some shoulder pain. I started at SNAP Fitness to have access to more equipment to try to rehab my shoulder. I met Ryan through my Fitness Assessment. I was impressed by his knowledge base, and thinking outside of the box to help me strengthen the weaker parts of my shoulder. My fitness really became a priority a year ago. For years, I struggled with being overweight and the lack of motivation to do anything about it. I needed major surgery and in return, I avoided all foods and sweets that caused any kind of abdominal discomfort and bloating during recovery. I started taking small walks to help with healing and to get a little exercise.

I enjoyed the walks and being out in the sun so much, that I started doing a little more each day, eventually making my way down around the lakes just people watching and listening to my headphones. I wasn’t doing it to lose weight, but rather as a form of self meditation and relaxation. Before I knew it, the weight was coming off when I wasn’t focused on it.

I wanted to stay active during winter months, and continue on this fitness journey. Jess told me about the group fitness classes and I signed up for the group yoga fitness classes, and later personal training with Jess.

I’m so glad I signed up to work with Jess. She radiates so much light and positivity, always encouraging and cheering me on. She’s an amazing motivator, keeping my workouts fun and challenging. Her expertise has successfully helped me improve the areas I want to focus on the most, and her ability to switch up the workouts to keep it fresh and exciting keeps me coming back and looking forward to my sessions. Plus, she’s just a really cool person in general and she clicks with everyone.

Overall, the flexibility of the training schedule, variety of classes, and team dynamic of all the trainers has been wonderful. Very, very happy with my experience so far on this journey. In October of 2016, I was told by my doctor that I need to lose weight. I have high blood pressure and was taking several meds. I knew the current exercise program I was working on wasn’t really working for me. I began working with Jess in mid-December 2016. She suggested a program of working with her twice per week and working on my own for the rest of the week with specific homework assignments. As of the end of March, I have lost 25 pounds, reduced my bodyfat percentage, lowered my blood pressure, and reduced the amount of medications I need to take. I sleep better and feel less stressed. What I especially like working with Jess, is her knowledge of how fitness works, and what exercise works on what muscle groups. She also has a great approach to a sustainable progressive training program. She sets up a weekly workout schedule that I can achieve, and also gives me the right amount of challenge. We set-up monthly goals, and I enter my daily workouts in a Google Docs spreadsheet that helps me stay accountable for my progress. I look forward to continuing my workout routine with the help of my Trainer to reach my long term goals. It’s very helpful having someone working with me. I started with 3CLICK in May of 2013, within a year of retiring. At the time I was being treated for Type-II Diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. I was also overweight by at least twenty pounds. I started with my first Trainer, Jen in May 2013, then switched to Francesca when Jen moved to California. Working with Fran has been a blessing for me. In addition to providing a varied and comprehensive workout each week, focused on my need for strength and mobility training, cardio performance, and diabetes management, Fran offers a wide range of insights regarding all of my health issues. Since I started training, I have dropped 22 pounds, gotten my A1C within a normal non-diabetic range, and my physician has lowered my dosages for the various medications I take. My favorite part about working with my Trainer is that I enjoy my session each week. Fran has been my enthusiastic coach with respect to all of my health outcomes. She keeps me on track with my goals, and she constantly varies my routines while being responsive and respectful to my specific exercise needs. Not only is Fran my coach on a professional level, I also consider her my friend.

When I started I was 235 pounds and my back and knees were in bad shape. I also had plantar fasciitis. I have since lost over 45 pounds, my back is strong enough to do deadlifts, my knees are good enough to run for exercise, and I no longer need to wear orthotics for the plantar fasciitis. I have taken up running distance events and have completed three marathons and a large handful of shorter distance races. I started working out on my own in October 2015 at 320 lbs. I met with Chris in December and had lost about 30lbs on my own, so far, but was at a plateau.  I set goals of getting down to 220 Lbs and I wanted to lean up and increase my overall endurance/energy.  We accomplished my initial goals in mid May 2016.  We have since adjusted my goals to really increase muscle and continue to lean out.  As of today, June 2016, I weigh about 210 lbs, having lost about 110lbs, I feel like a whole new person and the amount of energy I have gained as a result is unreal.

The decision to get a trainer has really been an awesome experience for me.  Chris has been a solid trainer and has done an awesome job of understanding my goals, schedule, lifestyle, along with my past injuries to really design a program that works really well for me personally.  This program has really showed me a different way to work out as well as making better nutrition choices. Chris has kept me accountable throughout this process and kept me focused on my goals.  He keeps the workouts challenging but fun. This whole process has been fun and eye opening, and I feel healthier now at 31 than I have as long as I can remember.

Andy is very knowledgeable, patient and a good teacher.  I’ve never used workout equipment before.  Andy does particularly well in concisely describing both the exercise as well as the form to use. At 65 I have aches and pains.  Andy listens well to me, and  has done very well recommending exercises to address those aches.  His knowledge of working the body is impressive.  I’d easily recommend Andy as a trainer for anyone. Andy is very encouraging and enthusiastic.  He watches closely that I’m using good form.  Little things like counting out the reps is quite helpful.  He provides a good variety of exercises and stretches and keeps things interesting.

It’s fun to workout and be social with Andy.  I’ve never fist bumped anyone before I met him!

My weight in January 2015 was 290 lbs. I started to change my diet and exercise on my own and had minimal results. Then decided to get a personal trainer. That is when I met Andrew. We came up with a plan and started to get to work. On Feb 24th my weight was 266 lbs and my body fat was 21% my goal was to loose 36 lbs by December of 2015 and get my body fat down to 15%. I have struggled with weight my entire life. The beginning of 2018, with a milestone birthday in view, I decided that I HAD to invest in my health. Instead of setting the usual goal to lose weight I set the goal to become strong and healthy. After contemplating my previous weight-loss efforts over the years I determined that I needed to engage professional support and guidance to achieve my goal. I had already found a terrific healthcare provider to help me understand my specific nutritional needs. I had never worked with a personal trainer before. Fortunately, I found 3CLICK and was introduced to Amy. She is such a terrific coach, so enthusiastic and motivating. The Functional Patterns training technique she uses is truly AH-MAZE-ING!! She comes to my home and with minimal exercise equipment she guides me through challenging strength-training movements–I break a sweat even with minimal movement! I can’t believe how well my core is engaged during AND after training, something I never experienced doing sit-ups or crunches over the years. I love that I am learning movements and techniques that have a significant impact that I can do at home, at the office, or when I’m traveling. After only a month of Amy’s weekly training sessions and subsequent homework assignments I already feel stronger and I am shedding pounds. Over several months Pat has helped me achieve my goals for fitness in addition to educating me on better nutritional choices.  I never wanted to be someone who read the labels of the food I was eating.  My theory was if my clothes fit, and I know I’m working out – who cares!   Well, now I care.  I read the ingredients in all my foods and I do my best to eat the correct amounts and at the correct times.  I was looking for a fitness lifestyle I could live with for the rest of my life – not just a quick fix that wouldn’t last.  I’d say I definitely got that with Pat.  And I signed up for more sessions!  Its been really good for me to know that I have someone to ask questions, and someone who can guide me to what I need to do to achieve new goals.   Plus knowing you’re going to get tested on your progress kinda keeps you motivated to stay on track.  Best gift I ever bought for myself!

I am age 65, retired, and I am a golfer. Last year when the golf season began I was in terrible shape. I could barely make it walking 18 holes, and my knees and back ached to a point that I had to you use a power cart some times. This year I decided things were going to be different. On January 29, 2013, I met Jenn Calderone. When she gave me my initial gym assessment I scored poor in all other assessment areas except hip to waist ratio were I scored average.

My personal goal was, to lose 20 pounds, improve posture, flexibility, strength in my legs, and gain more endurance before the 2013 golf season began. With Jenn as my trainer, my quest began on February 5. As of May 10 I have lost 23 pounds, and in the first week of the golf season I walked three round (54 holes) with no discomfort. Jenn’s last assessment concluded that I had improved in all areas. I had a physical last week and most health indicators, including cholesterol and sugar levels, ( not pre diabetic anymore) had improved. My golf game …a work in progress but I feel great!
