Trainer Spotlight – Zach Ward
3CLICK Fitness Personal Trainer Zach Ward is a literal and figurative rock star who embodies the term ‘Well-Rounded.’ Black belt, guitarist, and MMA fighter are just three of Zach’s many roles, each contributing uniquely to his multi-faceted training style.
Zach was exposed to fitness through training for baseball in his hometown of Boerne, Texas. His coach Michael Reyes went on to be the coach of the US Power Lifting Team. Reyes taught Zach the importance of understanding fundamental traditional resistance training, and instilled the values of proper form and power. When Zach began martial arts, he continued his education of training through body-weight exercise and functional movement. He has been a black belt for over 7 years and considers it one of his greatest accomplishments.
In 2014 Zach moved from Boerne to St. Paul to attend McNally Smith College of music, where he is currently studying. Music and fitness are Zach’s passions, and embody the majority of his time and focus. When he is not studying or training, Zach can be found performing under the stage name The Hoodoo Revival.
How did such a multi-functional person decide to become a personal trainer? He simply decided to choose a job he is passionate about. In the summer of 2014 Zach tried his hand in the restaurant industry and discovered he disliked it immensely, and then realized he could put his love of fitness to work to help other achieve their goals.
Zach view fitness as a vehicle for achieving an extraordinary life. He stated that “fitness is less about the physical transformation and more about mental discipline. Without physical training, I would not have the necessary discipline to accomplish anything great.” He also uses his own physical accomplishments to prove himself a trustworthy resource to his clients. He holds strong that if he can’t maintain accountability in his own physical fitness goals, then he can’t expect his clients do stay accountable to his programs.
Zach clients benefit from the wealth of his knowledge and diversity of his training. If you are looking for a trainer who will help you achieve your fitness goals in 2017, Zach is your man.
