Other than our homes going outside is the one of the other places that we are allowed to go to during this stay at home order. This should be taken advantage of! Remember that state parks remain open (with reduced services, for day use only, vehicle permits are still required).

Here are in our opinion the top places to go for running, hiking, and biking that are easy to get to for Twin Cites and greater metro area residents:

Theodore Wirth Regional Park

Location: Golden Valley

Theodore Wirth Regional Park is a 759-acre park and the largest park in the Minneapolis area. This destination is perfect for trail runners with 20 miles of trails to run and can be completed in about 3 hours. This park also has 21 biking trails perfect for those looking to bike in the area as well. Additional amenities outside include two golf courses, Wirth Lake, and a birch pond. This area is fun for exploring the many trails and would be a great place to spend time outdoors.
