What do you love most about working in the fitness industry?

  • Being able to become close with clients who I never would have even met in another type of job let alone have meaningful dialogue with on a weekly basis. Telling people “You CAN do it!” and seeing them succeed at doing whatever that was all day long is inspiring and fun.

What separates you from others in the fitness industry?

  • I think (almost) a decade straight of personal training is a big differentiator in the industry. My experience with so many clients over the years had led me to help people though a crazy variety of injuries, surgeries, and life changes.

What is your favorite area in fitness and why? (Strength Training/Marathon Running/ETC.)

  • Definitely strength training in general and I enjoy powerlifting moves (Bench, Squat, Deadlift) as well as variations on Olympic lifts (Snatches, Cleans). 💪🏻 The more muscle you have the more you can eat!

What is your favorite training modality? (Kettlebell/TRX/ETC.)

  • Barbells or Kettlebells in a HIIT style is my favorite challenge.

What do you consider to be the greatest accomplishment of your life?

  • Coaching high school girls for 10 years at the varsity level in dance. 💃🏿💃🏼 If you ever get a chance to coach or mentor teens I highly recommend you do! They are the best.

If you had to choose one exercise for somebody to do what would you pick and why?

  • Mmmmmmm… in the perfect world everyone would have the strength and mobility to do a barbell snatch and then you wouldn’t have to do much else because it works everything! It is basically a deadlift into a press into an overhead squat, AKA perfect! This emoji is a snatch btw –>🏋🏼‍♀️

What’s your secret to staying in shape?

  • I just have a lot of advantages to staying in shape including: ✅ A job that encourages it, ✅ access to lots of gyms, ✅ being on my feet and doing/showing random exercises all day for a few reps, ✅ I don’t have any chronic pain or injuries and ✅ most days I can pop on a treadmill randomly between or after clients if I don’t otherwise get 10,000+ steps. Sorry to say there is no secret or hack to staying in shape. The best advice I can give is design your daily life to help you move more.

What’s your favorite workout song?

  • Current new hot is – Savage Remix (feat. Beyoncé) by Megan Thee Stallion, its 🔥!!! Poppy dance music, EDM or hip hop is what I’m usually blasting for my own workouts but you also can’t go wrong with Fleetwood Mac in my book.

What are you passionate about? What are your hobbies and interests?

  • Doing dance, and auditioning for local theatre (did 4 shows in the last 16 moths, in 3 and choreographed 1 😅), choreography, NBA and WNBA, cooking pesco/vegetarian, my cats

What’s one thing that surprises people about you?

  • I think running as a chosen form of exercise is a ridiculous waste of time for most people who are looking to get in better shape as it typically exacerbates chronic asymmetries/issues/injuries. There are way more efficient and effective ways to get in shape with way less injury rates that take much less time out of your week. 😈 I would love to get in a big argument with you about it if you want!

What’s your favorite T.V. show?

  • On a Killing Eve and Westworld kick right now… could have Parks and Rec or Bob’s Burgers on at anytime and be very happy with that too!

If you could only pick one thing to eat for the rest of your life what would it be?

  • SUSHI!!!!! 😋💯

If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring 3 things with you what would they be?

  • If I’m cheating I’d say a genie in a magic lamp lol… Not cheating? A hatchet, big sealable jugs for water, tarp(s)
